Do iT Lean receives two more OutSystems Innovation Awards at NextStep Amsterdam

After receiving four Innovation Awards at NextStep in Boston, two more Do iT Lean projects were recognized at NextStep in Amsterdam.

 | Enterprise Efficiency Award

The Challenge - As the business continues to grow, the ability to control sales and project management processes had become a challenge. Exictos needed a streamlined lead-to-customer capture capability that seamlessly fed their downstream project management and billing systems.

The Solution - By partnering with Do iT Lean and leveraging OutSystems platform, Exictos was able to address these challenges in weeks vs months or years through two apps: Sales Management System (automates the end-to-end sales process from lead identification to closing the opportunity) and Project Management System (supports the full project management process from project adjudication to final delivery to the customer).

The Results - There are around 50 to 70 users of these two apps. They are used by the Sales Department, Project Delivery Managers and Heads of Business Lines, Back-Office and Board Directors. With these applications, Exictos was able to:

  • Give the Sales team more efficient means for the planning and control of their customers and proposals
  • Give the Management team real-time information about the pipeline and won leads
  • Give Project Managers more efficient means for the planning and control of their projects with a focus on financial components.
  • Enable the PMO to be more efficient in monitoring and analyzing projects execution
  • Provide a centralized repository of information accessible to different user profiles
  • Integrate with other applications like SAP

   

Via Verde | CX Transformation Award

The Challenge - The aim of the project was to build a mobile application that could be used in Via Verde stores to reduce the volume of printed documents and amount of time needed to service a customer when making changes to their Via Verde contract. The issue is that all contractual changes made in stores must be signed by Via Verde’s customer. To achieve this, it was necessary to print the change request form, have the customer sign it and consequently digitize and archive each document.

The Solution - Via Verde partnered with Do iT Lean to build the “Assinatura Digital tablet application”. In addition to the new app, it was also necessary to adapt the current in-store application used at Via Verde stores to enable real-time communication with the digital signature application. The OutSystems platform was used to develop a native Android application to address the in-store challenge and make it easy for a customer to sign documents resulting in changes to their agreements with Via Verde. OutSystems proved invaluable with its ability to update the end-user application without the need to update the APK on each mobile device. In addition, OutSystems ability to incorporate external plugins (Google Firebase, and Samsung S pen SKD) were key factors in the development.

The Results - The application is now available in some Via Verde stores. The next objective is to make the application available at all Via Verde stores. The new app has reduced the need for manual handling of paper and optimized the document flow resulting in a greatly improved, modern customer experience. In addition, it is now simple to setup a new attendance post at the current Via Verde stores and the new application is also providing a mobility solution that makes it easy to set up new and non “formal” locations, responding to peaks of demand and the distributed location of customers. By sending finalized documents via email, the application provides each customer real-time feedback of contractual modifications which were transacted in the store and dramatically reduces the time required to serve each customer.
